Dogara: Millions of Nigerians haven't bowed to the god of corruption

Professor Soyinka who gave the warning at the opening of a four-day conference of heads of anti-corruption agencies from across Africa in Abuja said that that he paid a visit to the EFCC headquarters in order to get a first-hand experience of the plans the anti-graft agency had for corrupt leaders.

"African countries must come together to keep the issue of asset recovery and return on the front burner of worldwide discuss".

Throughout my journey in national service and since 2015, I have made a very conscious decision to pursue a vigorous fight against corruption in public life.

He appealed to Nigerians to support regulatory agencies like Economic and Financial Crimes Commission "because fighting corruption is everyone's concern".

He said President Muhammadu Buhari has kept faith with his promise not to interfere with the operations of the anti-corruption agencies in the country.

The goal of this Administration is to ensure the protection of public trust, and the anti-corruption war is at its centre.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday recalled events leading to his ouster as Nigeria's military head of state and eventual incarceration for three years by a military government that succeeded him.

He also called on the Legislature, which provides the legal framework for the anti-corruption war to support the determination of government to rid the nation of the brazen corruption witnessed in recent years, through a review of archaic provisions in the relevant laws.

The last thing I will say is that this is perhaps the most important venue from which we must begin to change the narrative about corruption in Nigeria.

JR Smith called for flagrant foul after dirty play
Late in the fourth quarter, Smart tossed up a lob to Horford, who looked like he was going to have an easy dunk. Horford's teammate Marcus Smart immediately ran over to stand up for his teammate and got into it with Smith.

We are committed to working with our foreign friends to stop the inflow of stolen funds from Nigeria into their countries and recovering what is there already.

The president assured that those assets, when repatriated, would be put to building infrastructure.

In his remarks, Onyeama said anti-corruption was one of the three priority areas of the President. "There are millions of Nigerians that we come across day by day that are corruption-free".

The speaker while commending the President and EFCC for the new headquarters, called for further training of staff and improvement in their welfare packages so as to shield them from "temptations".

"I spoke to Magu (EFCC Acting Chairman), that I want to see the presidential wing in this place".

"I am not a vengeful person, but I think that until we make sure that some of our leaders pass through those doors, this struggle against corruption in this country will not be won".

Magu also noted that there is no sacred cow in the war against corruption as his agency will unravel more corrupt cases and pursue the conviction of pending cases.

Mr Magu added that the commission has also recovered N500 billion, explaining that all monies recovered for the federal government were "duly remitted" into the federation account and those for individuals were given back to them.
