CRAWFORD | Louisville gets prime-time ABC slot for season-opener vs. Alabama

The University of Louisville's football season-opener against defending national champion Alabama will kick off at 8 p.m. on ABC, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Wednesday. Central on September 1 and be televised on ABC, the Crimson Tide announced today.

The September 1st game has been picked for a primetime 7 PM/CT start time and will air nationally on ABC, the network announced this week. The last meeting took place in the 1991 Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, Ariz., after the Crimson Tide swept two games from the Cardinals in the 1976 and 1977 seasons. Florida State and Ole Miss previously faced off in this series to open the 2016 campaign.
