Ajax relegated after paying steep price for Ndoro eligibility debacle

The club said they were now consulting with their legal team regarding William Mokhari SC's arbitration ruling released yesterday which dumped them out of the top-flight league.

"Amongst other issues, the club will seek to interdict the promotion playoffs from commencing on Wednesday 16th May at 15:00".

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town have been relegated after being found guilty of fielding an ineligible player, Tendai Ndoro, in the recently completed Absa Premiership season.

"This will be sought pending an urgent review of the arbitrators award this morning". Ajax won two of the matches and drew one.

The games have been awarded to the three teams with 3-0 results and a fine of R50 000 was imposed for each game.

The judgement means that Ajax have now been docked nine points and finish the season on 22 points and are automatically relegated from the Absa Premiership.

The Pope then recited the "Hail Mary" prayer, inviting all to join him in praying to Mary, Queen of Peace. He explained that is symbolized the fire of faith passing from the godparents and parents to the child.

Ndoro has also played for Orlando Pirates and Saudi Arabian club Al-Faisaly in the 2017-18 season‚ but Ajax maintain there were extenuating circumstances‚ including that the player was not paid for some months by the Saudis.

But the PSL's own disciplinary structures did not find Ajax guilty and an appeal against the decision delivered an inconclusive verdict.

The South African Football Association (Safa) has found Ajax Cape Town guilty for fielding striker Tendai Ndoro illegally against Platinum Stars, Polokwane City & SuperSport United.

The 33-year-old Zimbabwean star was also reprimanded, as he received a two-match suspension. Ajax stated on their official Twitter account, "Ajax Cape Town are now consulting with their legal team regarding William Mokhari SC's arbitration ruling released this morning".

Platinum Stars Football Club will now participate in the Promotion play-offs as envisaged in the NSL Handbook read with the Play-off Rules on the dates.

Platinum Stars are on their way to Limpopo to take Ajax's place in the promotion/relegation playoff clash against Leopards at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
