Woman brought laxative-filled brownies to worker's send-off

The unnamed 47-year-old's employer, MMI Engineered Solutions, got a tip that the Adrian woman meant to bring laxative-laced brownies to her departing colleague's "send-off", as MLive puts it.

A MI worker flushed her career down the toilet by trying to serve laxative-spiked brownies to a co-worker, according to a new report.

A woman reportedly lost her job after police say she put laxatives in a co-worker's brownies.

The Ann Arbor News reports that Hart says the 47-year-old woman initially denied putting laxatives in the brownies, but after learning investigators would test them she admitted she had. The woman won't be charged, in part because the brownies weren't eaten, but she has been fired by the Saline-based company.

Other employees told police the woman may have had previous tensions with the departing employee, but specifics weren't released. The matter would be different had someone consumed the food.

"A lot of times you see it in movies or TV shows where someone tries to do this or play a joke, but it's very serious", he said. "It's a criminal act".

A representative for MMI Engineered Solutions declined to comment.
