Liverpool fee for RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita confirmed

Liverpool fee for RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita confirmed

The agreed fee for the transfer of the Guinea global was £59m, a bargain by today's standards given the quality that Keita possesses.

The fee that Liverpool must pay RB Leipzig for midfielder Naby Keita has reportedly been confirmed as £52.75m due to the Red Bulls' Europa League qualification.

Keita has failed to live up to expectations this season and received plenty of criticism from Leipzig supporters for a perceived lack of effort, with many believing his head to be in Liverpool already.

There is also the chance of no change in the initial fee for Keita should Leipzig lose and other results see them sink as low as ninth - ruling out European football for next season.

Liverpool agreed a deal to bring Keita to Anfield at the end of this season during the 2017 summer transfer window, but his price was dependent on Leipzig's final league position.

Keita will officially link up with his new Liverpool teammates for the start of their pre-season campaign. It's not my first problem, but I will think about it.

He posted a message on his Instagram which read: "I just want to take a minute to say thanks for everything".

'Hopefully, Naby will have a big effect on the team immediately because of his quality.

He said: "This was a hard season for Naby in Germany, and for Leipzig, in general but he still had outstanding performances". I appreciated the whole team and a big thank to the FAN RB Leipzig, your guys are awesome!
