Latest update to WhatsApp brings new features in WhatsApp grpups

The new version of the app for iOS and Android enables groups to add a description setting out the goal, guidelines and topics for the group chat. All the new features will be applicable to new and existing groups. Now, WhatsApp has further improved the feature with a set of new tools including Group description, Admin controls, Group catch up, Participant search, and more. You can mute WhatsApp groups for either 8 hours, a week or for a year and even block the notifications. The latest update comes after the chat app gained compatibility with Instagram and Facebook videos, a feature announced during parent company Facebook's F8 conference last week.

Group video calling is also heading to the app, expanding the previous calls feature that only allowed video chats between two people.

Group catch up: One of the most demanded features in Groups was a way to find out whether someone called you out at some point and you can straight dive into it. This feature can be found under "Group Info".

"When a new person joins a group, the description will show up at the top of the chat", the company said in a blog post on Tuesday. Group description is available for both iOS and Android users. WhatsApp says the tool is created to help users quickly get up to speed inside a group after being away from the chat.

Russian Federation 2018: Rohr releases 30-man provisional list
Argentina is one of the favourites to win the tournament and will share a group with Croatia, Iceland and Nigeria. Nigeria have named uncapped Crotone striker Simeon Nwankwo in a provisional 30-man squad for the 2018 World Cup.

WhatsApp introduced mention '@' feature for group chats back in 2016. You can now check on messages where you've been mentioned and reply directly. Tap on it to see the messages you've missed. With Participant search, users can find anyone in a group by searching for them on the info page.

WhatsApp has also made it easier for people to search for group participants online.

Other new WhatsApp group admin controls include the ability to control who can change a group's subject and icon - giving them a choice between all participants or only admins.

WhatsApp also says that admins can now remove admin permissions of other group participants, and group creators can no longer be removed from the group they started. At the same time group creators can not be removed from the group they have started.
