Google's new Wear OS Phone app brings Quick Replies to smartwatches

Google has recently released a brand new Wear OS Phone app aimed at those who own smartwatches that have already been updated to the new version of the wearable platform.

Wear OS Phone has a feature called Quick Replies that allows you to reply to a call using SMS, much like you can now do on your Android phone. That watch doesn't need to necessarily have cellular connectivity to make use of some of the new features either. These fast SMS responses can be accessed by tapping the overflow menu with a number of preset options available, including "I will call you right back" and "Can't talk right now". Along with making its Google Assistant smarter with actions it followed up by bringing an 'enhanced' battery saver mode to keep you away from that smartwatch charger for a little longer.

The new app is rolling out globally in the Google Play store now.

Oil near Nov 2014 highs firm as markets tighten amid OPEC cuts
Despite these efforts to fill in for lost supply, analysts at Bank of America still expect oil to reach $100 per barrel in 2019 . The IEA says non-OPEC supply is set to grow by 1.8 million barrels per day in 2018, somewhat more than OPEC's expectations.

The job of the app is simple, and pretty obvious - help you make a call directly from your Wear OS smartwatch.

While there may be no icon on the app list of these devices, users can still access the Phone app by heading directly to the Play Store listing.
