El-rufai to nPDP: You can't stop Buhari in 2019

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has boasted that President Muhammadu Buhari will still win next year's election even if members of the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) quit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The nPDP was one of the major groups and political parties that formed the APC.

The chairman of our group, Alhaji Kawu Baraje was at the secretariat to submit a letter informing the party of our grievances as the new PDP that joined the merger that brought the APC into power.

It described the petition by Mr Baraje as full of contradictions and expressed its desire to be part of any meeting that the president may want to have with the Baraje group.

They said the request for a meeting did not have their blessing, questioning when they met to take such a decision.

Other members of the group who were at the secretariat were former member of the House of Representatives from Kwara State, Moshood Mustapha; Abdulmumuni Jibrin (Kano); Theodore Georgewill (Rivers); Abdullahi Mahmood (Kano); Ahmed Aliyu (Nasarawa); and Ahmed Abubakar (Adamawa).

He said: "Today makes it seven days from the day our group brought this letter to the party".

Speaking with journalists after submitting the letter to Mr Odigie-Oyegun, Mr Adamu claimed they knew who the Baraje group was working for. They were not supported by our party, neither were they supported by the executive arm of government. Adamu and his group have compromised, saying they were never part of the nPDP an initio.

"Nigerians are aware of how we succeeded in getting the Senate President from the new PDP and the speaker from the new PDP".

They wondered what else they expected from the Buhari administration.

While insisting that there was no faction within the group, Frank who is the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC said: "I am here to clarify issues and debunk some of the lies from some of our members led by Sen". Where did Alhaji Baraje and Col Olagunsoye Oyinlola obtain the alleged resolution to write the said letter? When and where was the meeting held? Who are those that attended the meeting?

CVS Health (NYSE:CVS) Stake Lowered by Maryland Capital Management
The pharmacy operator reported $1.48 earnings per share for the quarter, beating the consensus estimate of $1.39 by $0.09. UBS raised CVS Health from an "outperform" rating to a "strong-buy" rating in a research note on Thursday, January 4th.

"The APC has been very gracious to us but we must not over-stretch our luck". Yet same person is asking to meet the APC leadership to address grievances?

The letter continued: "In any case, the letter is full of contradictions, false assertions, misrepresentations, distortion of history and facts and in many instances outright lies".

In the letter dated May 14, 2018 and entitled "Unfounded and Unjustified Grounds for Confrontation with our Party the APC and Government by some members of the Defunct nPDP'", the group said members of the then nPDP, had not met since the last meeting held by the group in 2014, so it had no idea how some group of people would come up to speak for it.

Frank stated this yesterday in response to the call of a factional group of nPDP led by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, that the President, Muhammadu Buhari should disregard the group demand.

It is very clear within our group today, the only two beneficiaries we can remember in our group is Rotimi Amaechi who finally became the Minister of Transportation and Sen.

"All of these offices control enormous amount of patronage and instruments of reward".

Continuing, the group said: "It is odd that we did not see any qualms when the Senate President and Speaker dispensed about 200 appointments including committee chairmen without asking for nominations from Mr. President, the vice-president, the APC as a party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as party leader, Baba Akande, the pioneer national chairman, and a host of others". Is that not marginalisation?

"Senator Bukola Saraki - Senator and Senate President, Hon Yakubu Dogara - member of House and Speaker House of Representatives, Senator Abdullahi Adamu- Senator and Chairman Senate Committee on Agriculture, Senator Adamu Aliero- Senator and Chairman Senate Commitee on Customs, Senator Magatakarda Wamakko- Senator and Chairman Senate Committee on Education, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso- Senator and Chairman, Senate Committee on National Planning and Senator Danjuma Goje- Senator and Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation".

And, I have no doubt in my mind that even if the people threatening to leave, it will have absolutely no impact on the presidential election, the president will win Sokoto, Kwara and Adamawa easily.

According to him, if there was any marginalisation, it should be the other way around; nPDP members marginalising themselves. Hajiya Alhassan who became the Minister for Women Affairs.
