Buhari Congratulates APC's Fayemi Guber Candidate

In a tweet, Fayose urged President Muhammadu Buhari to reserve his seat at the Federal Executive Council because he is going to lose woefully on July 14.

"A chieftain of the party in the state, Kolawole Akinlayo has also felicitated with Dr Fayemi over his victory at the party's governorship primary election, saying", this is a reward for consistency, diligence and hard work".

Reacting to the outcome of the APC primary through his Twitter handle, the governor said Fayemi should "expect to suffer worse defeat compared to that of 2014" when they were running mates for the state's governorship seat.

"But this time round and having emerged as the party's candidate, we want all of them to return and that can only be achieved when Fayemi returns home fully to take charge", the source added.

Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has warned that Mr Fayemi should suspend any celebrations over his victory on Saturday as his emergence as the APC candidate was a "pyrrhic victory". I have no doubt that Dr Fayemi's track record as a reformist-with a passion for education, health and welfare-will stand him in good stead in the elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party's State Publicity Secretary, Hon Taiwo Olatubosun, in a statement, congratulated Fayemi as well as other aspirants and the Primary Election Committee for the success of the exercise.

"I would also like to commend all the participants in the keenly-contested Primary".

"The President notes that the successful primary in the state, with more than 30 aspirants, further validates the credentials of the APC on internal democracy, and its preparedness to take the country to another level of development." the statement added.

He also sarcastically thanked the APC for making winning easier for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Prof.

He, however, took a swipe at Governor Fayose whom he accused of being "a common enemy" of the APC and Ekiti people. Kolapo Olusola Eleka. Fayemi will suffer the worst defeat of his political career.
