Blue Jays' Roberto Osuna's Administrative Leave extended through May 21

Major League Baseball extended Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna's administrative leave Monday through May 21 after he was arrested and charged with assault of a woman.

It appears the administrative leave will be extended on a weekly basis until at least Osuna's first scheduled court date in Toronto on June 18, unless there's a resolution in the case prior to that, sources told TSN. The original seven-day leave was set to expire on Tuesday after news came out about the charge by Toronto Police on May 8. While the Blue Jays haven't announced any bullpen plans with Osuna unavailable, Tyler Clippard has picked up the lone save opportunity in his absence. It allows the league to discipline a player for an alleged domestic violence incident regardless of whether it results in a trial.

Naomi Osaka, who claimed her first WTA title at Indian Wells in March, eliminated former No. 1 Victoria Azaranka 6-0, 6-3. Nishikori will face third seed Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria in the second round.

Osuna had recorded nine saves in 10 chances before going on leave, posting a 2.93 ERA and 1.11 WHIP.
