2K, Hangar 13 Expand Global Development Team with New UK Studio

The company laid off a lot of its employees, according to them there was a need for staff reduction in order to ensure that the studio resources were properly aligned with its long-term development plans.

Publisher 2K has announced that Nick Baynes is going to head t up the Brighton-based studio. Last month, Kotaku reported that the developer was struggling to figure out what their next project would be but it seems like the opening of this new studio indicates that Hangar 13 is moving forward with a new project. Baynes was the game director for Split/Second, and he has worked in game development for over twenty-five years. "With four offices in Novato, California; Brighton, and two cities in the Czech Republic, Hangar 13 can do that".

Although 2K Games fully owns Hangar 13, the new studio in Brighton will be exclusively developing games as part of the latter.

"The UK has some of the most talented game developers in the world and [Baynes] couldn't be more excited to work with [Vice President of Development] Andy again to build a world class team in Brighton and help forge the future of Hangar 13". And what are your expectations from the studio?
