'Timeless' Finale Ratings Down From 2017 As Drama Awaits NBC Renewal Decision

The two-part season finale of " ticked up in the overnight ratings from last week, but it is unclear if that will be enough to earn the show a third season.

Having come off a cancellation and then a fan-generated renewal past year, Timeless went large Sunday with the two-hour ending to its 10-episode Season 2. At 8, "The Simpsons" posted a 0.9/4 and 2.1 million viewers.

TVLine readers gave Timeless' finale an average grade of "A"; get scoop on the big twists plus what any possible Season 3 might have in store. The first season finale drew a 0.9 and 3.4 million viewers previous year. At 7 p.m., "America's Funniest Home Videos" landed a 1.2/6 and 5.7 million viewers.

Genius Junior did 3.1 mil/0.6 and then 2.8 mil/0.5.

Elsewhere, American Idol stayed steady at No. 1 last evening with a 1.6 rating and 7.8 million total viewers. At 9:30, another "Bob's Burgers" received a 0.8/3 and 1.9 million viewers. "NCIS: Los Angeles" (0.8, 7.3 million) was even, while "Madam Secretary" (0.6, 5.9 million) was up.

Also, Timeless was still the second-lowest rated show of the night on broadcast, which is probably a much greater consideration for the network than this slight weekly uptick. CBS and Fox, meanwhile, tied for second in the demo with a 0.7 rating.

CBS was first in viewers with 7.3 million. Fox was fourth with 1.8 million.
