Brazil suffer Alves blow ahead of World Cup

Neymar has been strongly linked with a move to Madrid in the summer, although Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisted on Saturday that the Brazil global was going nowhere.

When asked about the possible interest Zidane avoided answering the question, instead moving the focus onto Madrid's Champions League final at the end of May. "And the French media I don't know who they are working for", Al-Khelaifi told reporters, according to publication Goal.

Neymar is said to have announced the news to his teammates at a dinner hosted by Thiago Silva, that other players like Marco Verratti, Javier Pastore and Marquinhos attended. "When we played some easier games, the coach did not want me involved - he wanted me primarily for the biggest matches".

In a recent update on the footballer's case, it seems like Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaifi put all rumors to rest.

"Our motivation isn't going to change just because we're not going to win LaLiga, but playing is the best way to prepare, playing well at a high level of intensity".

The Brazilian team doctor, in France for Neymar's tests, also ended up diagnosing the knee injury of PSG and Brazil right-back Dani Alves which ruled the 35-year-old out of the World Cup.

Those in Madrid have hinted at interest, with Zinedine Zidane recently revealing that he considers Neymar and Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to be "compatible".

"So good players can always play together".

"So many things have been positive, and I also take the negative things as it helps in the growing process of the club, but also mine".

Brazil forward Neymar aims to get fully fit in time for next month's FIFA World Cup following foot surgery, but his future at Paris St Germain (PSG) looks rather uncertain.
