Police Arrest Fake Delegates — Ekiti APC Primary

Some hoodlums were arrested at the gate of the venue of the Ekiti APC primary rerun for attempting to force themselves into the venue and for aggressively confronting policemen who manned the gates.

The election was done on the basis of senatorial districts with local governments in the Ekiti South Senatorial District taking the first turn to vote.

"Any delegate that enters the arena must be identified by his party membership card, and extra-statutory identity like worldwide passport, driver's licence and national ID card".

"After identification, delegates will be given ballot paper and they will submit their delegates tag for punching, and they will also submit the ropes of their tags".

"Cubicles for the voting area are ready for delegates and delegates will go in and cast their votes".

"At the end of the voting, there will be sorting to be followed by counting".

Al-Makura, who said 2,326 out of the 2,618 delegates had been accredited to participate in the exercise, urged them to respect the ‎rules and regulations guiding the exercise.

The party in a statement by its national publicity secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, on Thursday, May 10, said: "The All Progressives Congress APC has rescheduled the Ekiti governorship primary election for Saturday May 12, 2018".

They reportedly attempted to force their way into the venue of the election.

He said that he was already expecting the Primary Election Committee headed by Gov. Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa to commence the voting.

Some of the governorship aspirants sighted entering the event centre include: Opeyemi Bamidele; Ayo Arise and Gbenga Aluko.
