Warriors, Klay Thompson reportedly engaged in contract extension discussions

Apparently, they're doing their best to make sure it happens.

Klay Thompson and the Warriors are reportedly in talks regarding a possible contract extension, according to The Athletic.

Thompson is set to make just over $18.9 million next season, but could stand to make roughly $102 million if he were to sign a new four-year deal with the Warriors.

"The most he could get in the first year of an extension is a 120 percent raise".

According to Marcus Thompson's report, Klay Thompson is considering a four-year extension, but worth only $92 million - $111 million when you include his 2018-19 salary.

Traffic police to go cashless for fines
Previously, it was reported that in some parts of the country, traffic police were accepting card payments to collect the fine. Traffic offenders in the city can transfer the fine via debit or credit card against the issued e-challan.

As Thompson has continually stated, he has no real interest in free agency and leaving the only National Basketball Association team he's played for. That would decrease the amount of money he could make over the next several seasons if the guard opts to stay with his current team rather than signing with a new one as a free agent.

Obviously, the Warriors have some serious cash to pay out to their top players, including Stephen Curry's five-year, $201 million-plus deal. That's when he can earn five-year, $188 million contract in free agency.

And then there's the topic of Kevin Durant, who had originally signed a two-year deal before this season.

While the Golden State Warriors gear up for a Western Conference finals showdown with the Houston Rockets, the front office maintains an eye on keeping its core together well into the future.
