Tirupati Urban Superintendent of Police Abhishek Mohanty informed , "BJP leaders have lodged a complaint with us over the attack". The group threw stones on his auto at Alipiri gate when Amit Shah was on his way to Tirupathi from airport along with his family.

In the usual performance of the parade, the dragon's head shoots a blast of fire from its nose, timed to the parade's score. The dragon is not looking so good now.

The float, inspired by Walt Disney's 1959 animated classic Sleeping Beauty, depicts green-skinned dark fairy Maleficent in her purple-and-black dragon form.

Video of the fiery dragon head shows its mechanical mouth and neck still operating as workers tried to put out the flames.
