Twins activate Gold Glove winner Buxton from DL

Shohei Ohtani hit his fifth home run of the season and an RBI double Thursday to drive in two runs in the Los Angeles Angels' series-opening 7-4 win over the Minnesota Twins.

The 24-year-old center fielder is one of the best defensive players in all of baseball and won his first career Gold Glove in 2017.

Through 11 games, Buxton is hitting.195 and averaging 6.7 FanDuel points per game. He originally was dealing with migraine headaches going back to the Twins' two games against the Cleveland Indians in Puerto Rico. The veteran second baseman had been struggling mightily before he came through on Thursday.

The Twins activated Buxton from the 10-day disabled list.

Sano took grounders on the field at Angel Stadium during early work and seemed to be moving well at his usual third base spot.

Having Sano fly out west seemed unlikely as recently as Monday in St. Louis, when manager Paul Molitor said, "I don't think we'll see him in Anaheim".
