Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, Snapdragon 730 specifications leaked

We believe that the Snapdragon 710 will be the first to arrive in devices, followed by the Snapdragon 730 because the advanced 8nm LPP process might also get delayed in the future. With a focus on artificial intelligence, the company announced the new 700-series of processors back in February.

Sitting between the 600 series and the flagship 800 series, the 7xx will feature octa-core CPU where six of the cores are for efficiency and two of them for performance.

The Snapdragon 710 is said to be built on Samsung's 10nm LPE process node but will share many characteristics with its more powerful counterpart, including the Adreno 615 GPU running at a maximum of 750MHz which will support HDR10-enabled QHD displays. This naturally means that the Snapdragon 730 is going to be arriving later in mobile phones, but it will be defined as a major player that phone manufacturers would love to test and eventually use in their devices.

Following the announcement, the White House released a brief statement saying that Trump had spoken with Macron on the phone about "peace and stability in the Middle East".


Since Qualcomm said the 700 series would be AI-oriented, there will be a specific machine learning neural processing unit called NPU 120, coupled with GPU/HVX on the Snapdragon 730, while the 710 will not have the dedicated NPU. The chipset features a combination of eight Kryo3xx cores out of which two are performance cores and six are efficiency cores.

The Snapdragon 710 will provide a resolution support of WQHD+ 3,040 x 1,440 which means a 19:9 aspect ratio. Besides, it can support a 32 megapixel camera, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 3.1 Type C as well as USB 2.0. Compared to the previously commercialized 10nm LPP solution, the 8nm one enables up to ten-percent lower power consumption and can accommodate more transistors over any given surface area.

The processor will also be more powerful though it will be in the same 2+6 CPU core configuration. It will have a similar 2 + 6 cluster but the cores with Kryo 4xx cores will run at higher frequencies (2.30GHz and 1.80GHz). The GPU is the same as the one on the Snapdragon 710, which is Adreno 615, but instead of the Spectra 250 ISP, you get a Spectra 350 ISP. Wireless connectivity features are also the same as it carries the same SD660 transceiver.
