Carpal tunnel hits Price

Price returned to Boston for tests yesterday on his left hand.

Price was officially scratched from Wednesday's start prior to Tuesday's game against the Yankees after experiencing numbness in his hand for the second time this season.

The Boston Red Sox received some tremendous news on the David Price' injury front Wednesday.

Price, 32, has struggled in 2018, his third season with the Red Sox after signing the richest contract ever for a pitcher.

Cora said Price will throw a bullpen session tomorrow. He was forced from a game April 11 with the same symptoms after allowing four runs in the first inning - the shortest start of his career. "He's going to throw, and hopefully he throws a bullpen and after that we'll make a decision if he makes his next start or something else". Today Alex Cora told the press that Price has been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. He's 2-4 with a 5.11 ERA and a 1.405 WHIP.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is an uncommon injury for baseball players.
