Westworld Renewed For Season 3--There Are No Violent Ends In Sight

HBO has released a promo and batch of images for next week's third episode of Westworld season 2, entitled "Virtù e Fortuna"; take a look below...

It comes as no surprise that HBO has officially confirmed that "Westworld" will be renewed for its third season, even with the show only being two episodes into its second season.

According to Casey Bloys, president of HBO programming, "It's been an extraordinary pleasure to work with the exceptionally talented Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, as well as their gifted cast and crew". The total number of views across all platforms HBO amounted to 12 million viewers. It also scored more than 20 Emmy nominations.

That first season explored several interweaving plots set across multiple timelines, guided by an ensemble cast that included Anthony Hopkins (Dr. Robert Ford), Jeffrey Wright (Arnold, Bernard), Ed Harris (the Man in Black), Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores Abernathy), Thandie Newton (Maeve Millay), James Marsden (Teddy Flood) and Jimmi Simpson (William). This season sees the addition of Gustaf Skarsgård, Jonathan Tucker, Fares Fares, Katja Herbers, Peter Mullan, Rinko Kikuchi, and Kiki Sukezane.

Season 2 premiered on April 22 and was watched by 2.1 million people.

Joy and Nolan came up with the TV adaptation of the 1973 film with the same title that was written and directed by Michael Crichton.
